Thousands of people across Scotland give emergency help to their fellow citizens. But who helps them?

Lifelines Scotland project is here to offer exactly that support. Whether you’re a volunteer emergency responder or work with one of the blue light services, there will probably be a time when our resources will be helpful.

This Lifelines website has information about how you can stay well, beat stress and boost your resilience. Your family and friends may find our resources valuable, too.

Lifelines Scotland was set up in 2016 by NHS Lothian’s Rivers Centre for Traumatic Stress (on behalf of the Scottish Government) to support the wellbeing of Scotland’s volunteer responder community.

In 2019 the Scottish Government provided funds to extend Lifelines to all emergency responders in Scotland and we are now working with Police Scotland, Scottish Ambulance Service and Scottish Fire & Rescue Service to develop resources and training courses for their staff.
